The Mission of the Neptune Township Emergency Medical Services (NTEMS) is to provide clinically and operationally excellent response and emergency medical care to the residents and visitors of Neptune Township. Neptune Emergency Medical Services is dedicated to providing the highest quality pre-hospital and out of hospital treatment with prompt and safe transport. We will accomplish this while assuring appropriate response in emergency and non-emergency situations.

We will have total regard for the best possible service. We recognize that each patient has individual needs which comprise the total person and we have the responsibility to assist patients with their healthcare needs.

We are committed to appropriate and timely disaster and non-disaster medical response and integration with all other township departments and agencies to provide a comprehensive program of response, care, safety and coordination.

Neptune EMS will assure a work environment that encourages employees to excel in their work and establish strong internal and external working relationships that will contribute to ensuring public trust and promoting quality patient care. The Neptune EMS’ vision encompasses the following six components:

Neptune Township EMS provides emergency medical response, 24-hour a day, 7-day a week to the residents of Neptune Township. We staff a minimum of two ambulances during the day and one at night.  NTEMS provides primary mutual aid to several surrounding municipalities.

Our EMTs come from a variety of backgrounds that include private ambulance services, municipal emergency medical services and specialty care transport services. Our staff is equipped to handle all EMS calls and is trained to the highest level possible under the NJ Department of Emergency Medical Services guidelines. Our personnel are responsible for responding to medical emergencies and delivering patient care, support, and evaluation in a pre-hospital setting. These protocols generally include assessing the patient, determining the proper emergency care, administering treatment and providing transportation to the most appropriate facility.

Neptune EMS also provides our staff, ambulances and other response vehicles to many community events. .

Our Agency is a host agency of the New Jersey EMS Task Force and all members are encouraged to become members.

Our Medical Director is Dr. Stephen Vetrano, DO who served as an Neptune Township EMT prior to becoming an Emergency Physician.
